AT&T wireless loyalty plan. $100 / month “unlimited” DATA YMMV

Long time lurker and occasional poster. I’mheartsick that FW is going away. I’mhappy to try to give back here If I can;

Imover 55 and went to att site to seeif they had anything close to the T-Mobile2/ $60 unlimited plan. Sadly no.
Then a chat box popped up and asked if they could be of help? Certainly.
I unemotionally gave my story that I was a long time customer, over 55 who uses minimal data spread over 3 phones (apparently5gb/ month avg). I was disappointed that a good customer such as myself had to pay over $150/ month for something I could get elsewhere for much less. I was transferred, via chat, to the retention/loyaltydepartment.
After the expected chit-chat, the CSR said that they had a special “Loyaltyplan” for folks such as me.
Ultimately I got 5gb of “High speed” data/monthand then it would reduce to “unlimited” 3g / low speed “home internet speed” data. Never any overages or other charges. No HD video. Hotspots are still available and I keep my company discount as well. This for $100 / month for all 3 lines.
Apparently, this is not advertised and only offered when someone asks, and only available to long time(I’mgreater than 10 years) subscribers.
Again, YMMV but if you are a longer time customer and don’tuse a lot of data, this may be for you. It took about 1/2 hr of “chat to save $50 / month. $600/ year.
